Organised in collaboration with the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), the event centred on the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) – a milestone regulation establishing mandatory cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements, aiming to enhance digital safety across Europe.
The event brought together distinguished speakers, institutional stakeholders, and cybersecurity experts, creating a platform for sharing insights, promoting collaboration, and deepening understanding of the CRA’s regulatory framework.
Key topics included:

- Challenges and pathways for SMEs adapting to the new requirements,
- The key obligations for manufacturers and digital service providers,
- Compliance tools such as those developed under the EU-funded Curium Project,
- The CRA’s position within the broader EU cybersecurity strategy,
- Cybersecurity risk assessment as a core regulatory requirement,
- Conformity assessment and certification procedures,
- Application of product-specific security controls.
In his welcome address, Commissioner of Communications George Michaelides underscored the transformative nature of the CRA and reaffirmed the Office’s commitment to supporting its implementation in Cyprus. He stated:
“Cyber resilience is no longer a matter of choice — it is a fundamental pillar in securing Europe’s digital future.”
